Biography
Debra Burke is a Professor of Business Administration & Law in the College of Business
at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics, a master’s
degree in Public Affairs and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the University
of Texas. A recipient of WCU’s Chancellor’s Distinguished Teaching Award and University
Scholar Award, she has published over 70 articles on a wide range of topics. She was
awarded the first Senior Scholar Award of Excellence by the Southeastern Academy of
Legal Studies in Business Regional Association and served for six years on the senior
editorial board of the Journal of Legal Studies Education. Professor Burke is also
the Executive Director of NCAMP and FARMVA, two organizations funded by USDA grants
that provide mediation, credit counseling and succession planning to agricultural
producers in Virginia and North Carolina.
