Teaching Interests
Dr. Perry focuses on the development of entrepreneurial mindsets and skillsets. Simply stated, there are dispositions that can be developed (mindsets) that can encourage and set the course to a land of problem solving and their are tools (skillsets) that when learned and applied can help navigate uncharted waters in powerful ways. Lane teaches creativity, innovation, introduction to entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, and business planning.
Research Interests
• Entrepreneurial ecosystems and their impact on economic impact and community development (rural focus).<br>• Entrepreneurial education and student development (e.g., curriculum, pedagogy, and project-based learning).<br>• Student engagement, success, and leadership development (designing conditions and high impact practices).<br>• Learning and teaching environments in higher education (e.g., student learning outcomes and assessment).<br>• Community-based learning and service-learning pedagogy (student, teacher, and community benefits).<br>• Innovative/Responsive pedagogies/curriculum design (e.g., problem/inquiry-based learning, class technology).<br>• Global citizenship development through international education and study abroad.<br>• Mixed methodologies research – combining qualitative/quantitative methods (primarily qualitative).<br>• Public health, specifically non-communicable diseases, related to Indigenous/minority populations (training).
