Biography

In August, 1999, Dr. Jerry R. Miller joined the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resources Management at 蘑菇短视频 where he currently holds the Blanton J. Whitmire Professorship in Environmental Science. He has over 25 years of experience in the fields of geomorphology and environmental geology. Dr. Miller has published the results of his studies in over 65 refereed articles in professional journals, has co-author 6 books, including 5th edition of <i>Process Geomorphology, and Contaminated Rivers: A Geomorphological and Geochemical Approach to Site Assessent and Remediation. </i>His colleagues and he have received more than $3.5 M in external funding for their research. He belongs to several professional societies including the Geological Society of America and the American Geophysical Union.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Miller teaches course in the general area of geomorphology, hydrology, and water and sediment quality.

Research Interests

Development of geomorphic and hydrologic tools for the establishment of effective watershed and water resource management programs; restoration of river and riparian ecosystems; analysis of hydrologic and fluvial geomorphic responses to natural and anthropogenic disturbances; determination of the source, transport and fate of heavy metals and other contaminants in rivers and lakes, environmental forensic analysis of contaminated rivers using multivariate and isotopic tracing methods
