Biography

Dr. Mary Knowlton is an associate professor with tenure in the School of Nursing. She has been a professor at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµsince 2010 where she has taught undergraduate nursing in the traditional BSN, Accelerated BSN and RIBN programs. She currently works in the Accelerated BSN program teaching medical-surgical nursing, pharmacology and pathophysiology.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Knowlton is a strong proponent of active learning and has implemented various student-centric learning techniques over the years. She has been recognized at WCU for her excellence in teaching.

Research Interests

Area of Research Interest: Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL), active learning techniques, student retention and simulation.
