Biography
Jennifer Riseden is an Assistant Professor in the ABSN Program at Western Carolina
University. She began her career at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµin August of 2017.<br><br>Mrs. Riseden brings
17 years of clinical experience to the classroom. She has over a decade of experience
working in Emergency Medicine in the role of a Registered Nurse as well as Nurse Practitioner.
Prior to joining WCU, she worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a family medicine
clinic in Knoxville, TN. She has also worked as online adjunct faculty in the School
of Nursing for Grand Canyon University since January of 2016.<br><br>Mrs. Riseden’s
educational background began with a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Carson Newman
University. After working in the Emergency Department for over 4 years as a Registered
Nurse she decided to pursue her Masters of Science in Nursing. She then graduated
in 2011 from Carson Newman University with her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner
as well as Nurse Educator. As part of her Nursing Education degree she helped develop
a Clinical preparation booklet for the Maternal Infant skills lab at Carson Newman.
Her research during her MSN degree focused on Parental Decision making in Childhood
illness.<br><br>She currently resides in Asheville, NC with three children.
