Biography

Allyson (Ally) Brown, PhD, CNE, RN, is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ. A nurse educator and qualitative researcher, her work focuses on human-centered nursing practice, inclusivity in nursing education, and the experiences of underrepresented student groups. She currently serves as the Inaugural MEPN Program Director, which launched January 2026.<br>Ally has taught across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. Dr. Brown is credentialed as a NLN Certified Nurse Educator and is a Harvard Macy Scholar. Her clinical background includes nearly two decades in women’s health and pediatric care. She remains committed to advancing equitable nursing education, strengthening student learning environments, and preparing future nurses to excel in complex care settings.

Research Interests

Research interests include innovative nursing education strategies, clinical judgment development in prelicensure learners, and human‑centered teaching. Additional interests include qualitative inquiry and advancing care access in rural America, particularly for maternal–child populations, by preparing a workforce equipped to meet rural health needs.
