Biography
Dr. April W. Messer joined Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s School of Nursing as an adjunct
faculty member in 2014 and became a full-time faculty member in 2017, teaching in
the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She earned a Bachelor of Science
in Biology from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2010)
and Master of Science in Nursing Education (2013) from Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
Dr. Messer completed her PhD in Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro,
where her research focused on the hospital care of individuals with substance use
disorders. She also holds a post-graduate certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health
Nurse Practitioner.<br>Dr. Messer teaches adult medical-surgical nursing and mental
health nursing and has served as Associate Director of the School of Nursing since
January 2022.
