Biography

Interim Dean of the David Orr Belcher College of Fine and Performing Arts (BCFPA) and Associate Professor of Interior Design at 蘑菇短视频, Cullowhee, NC. Professor Hughes' terminal Master鈥檚 degree was awarded by the University of<br>Kentucky, and earned her Bachelor鈥檚 from Miami University. Jane's early career focused on resort and multi-family construction and has progressed into exploring ways in which designers can positively affect the Quality of Life for our elderly population. As an academic administrator, Jane has served as the Co-Director of the School of Art and Design (1 year), the Associate Dean of the BCFPA (5 years), and is now serving as the Interim Dean of the college.

Teaching Interests

Teaching Interests include hand drafting, digital and hand-drawn perspectives and renderings, building codes, and upper-level design studios focusing on commercial design. As well, as Formative Assessment within the Arts.

Research Interests

Primary areas of research include acoustics as they relate to Quality of Life in Elder Care, and Formative and Summative Assessment within the arts with a focus on Interior Design.
