Biography

Dr. Ahmed Al-Bayati is an assistant professor in the Construction Management Department at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ. He earned his PhD in Construction Engineering from Western Michigan University in 2017. His dissertation research focused on managing workforce diversity at construction sites in the US to improve safety, quality, and teamwork. Dr. Al-Bayati has over ten years of experience in the construction industry working in diverse areas of the field from safety coordinator to site engineer. He is a certified professional engineer in the state of Michigan, an OSHA authorized trainer, and is certified as a Construction Safety and Health Technician. His current research focuses on construction safety and construction project management with a particular emphasis on safety culture parameters and their impact on site safety, construction workforce diversity management, and construction rework and change orders.

Teaching Interests

I believe in pursuing the following two learning objectives to help my students become successful construction managers in the future: (1) Help students understand foundational concepts and theories so that students could apply the ideas and approaches to a real-world scenario. (2) Encourage teamwork and enhance students’ written and oral communication skills.

Research Interests

I am a dynamic construction engineer who wants to be on construction sites exploring the industry issues that required more attention to improve the construction outcomes through practical interventions.
