Two 蘑菇短视频 students are back on campus for the fall semester after advancing to the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference over the summer, bringing back a little hardware for the trophy case in Forsyth Building, home to the College of Business.

A group of 蘑菇短视频鈥檚 newest students will be ceremoniously welcomed as members of the Catamount family by some of their own relatives who previously attended 蘑菇短视频as the university holds its annual Legacy Pinning event Saturday, Sept. 19.

The new hospitality level atrium on the fourth floor of the westside stands expansion at 蘑菇短视频鈥檚 E.J. Whitmire Stadium has been named in recognition of philanthropic support from alumni Larry and Mary Arbaugh.

For more than 50 years, 蘑菇短视频鈥檚 Mountain Heritage Days has celebrated the music, stories, and traditions of Appalachia 鈥� and this year the energy is bigger than ever.

蘑菇短视频 invites faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to register for the 16th Annual Rooted in the Mountains Symposium, taking place September 24-25, 2026, at the Bardo Arts Center on WCU's main campus.

Shelley and Kevin King are the founders of Ochre Hill Farms, two 蘑菇短视频 Catamounts who first met as performers of the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. But as they鈥檇 tell their story, Ochre Hill Farms was as much their children鈥檚 project as their own.

This July four 蘑菇短视频 graduates were chosen to serve communities across the state as Lead for North Carolina fellows. Lead for NC is a government fellowship program started in 2019 with a mission 鈥渢o strengthen North Carolina鈥檚 public institutions, support its local communities and create a new generation of transformational public service leaders.鈥�

Eric Hall sat in his mother鈥檚 North Carolina living room with one of his proudest achievements in his hands. The 蘑菇短视频 alumnus had worked on his book for years and had no bigger supporter than his mom, Beth.

Amanda Turi莽i, then Doll, sat in a Haywood County school desiring a change. She loved what she was doing as a student-teacher, but she knew North Carolina wasn鈥檛 where she wanted to be forever. The United States wasn鈥檛 either. She wanted to go overseas.
