Western Carolina's fully accredited, online Master of Project Management (MPM) Program offers top quality graduate-level training for mid-career project managers as well as other professionals who aspire to management or project management careers. 

Accredited by PMI-GAC, WCU's MPM courses are pre-approved to provide you with contact hours that count toward the requirements to sit for the PMI Credential as well PDUs to maintain a PMI credential. Each faculty member has a doctoral degree as well as the PMP certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Demonstrated academic accomplishment complemented by significant and diverse real-world experience is the foundation for the MPM Program’s success.

What You'll Learn

The M.P.M. program is a 36 semester program that will advance your project management leadership skills through teaching, research and service. All faculty members have doctoral degrees and PMP certification from the PMI. Some of the courses students will take include Project Selection, Initiation, and Legal Considerations, Project Planning, Project Execution, and Project Closeout, Ethics, and Approaches. The program is designed for busy professionals and is completely online to help accommodate your busy schedule.

Where You'll Go

An M.P.M. gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of industries like health care, green technologies and have the chance to execute exciting campaigns for companies representing a diverse number of goods and services. According to a survey conducted by the PMI, the average salary of project managers is $115,000 in 2022.

A graduate-level degree in Project Management provides skills that are applicable to almost any industry in the business world. You will learn how to organize, run and evaluate projects, such as kicking off a new product. ĢƵ’s Master of Project Management program is designed primarily to assist those involved with project management initiatives and requires relevant work experience of at least two years. This was the first such masters degree of its kind in the United States at a nationally accredited institution, and the first one to be accredited by the Project Management Institute.
