More about our Master of Business Administration Program
What You'll Learn
Our MBA curriculum was designed in collaboration with employers in western North Carolina,
ĢƵCollege of Business faculty, and recent MBA graduates. Our students exit the program
Business Ready® to meet the employment needs of aspiring graduates and the regional
business community.
Courses are led by academically qualified Ph.D. faculty and the program boasts participative
engagement with regional businesses through tours, internships, and guest speakers,
adding highly valued networking opportunities to the classroom experience.
Where You'll Go
Alumni from WCU’s M.B.A. program work with a number of regional and national companies.
The managerial skills gained during the program will give you the opportunity to work
in a leadership role in a Fortune 500 organization or with a local business. The Bureau
of Labor Statistics states the average salary for business executives is $206,420
and predicts job opportunities will increase by 4% by 2034.
The business world is constantly pioneering new innovations that shape the way we
live and interact with the word. The private sector offers a variety of leadership
and managerial roles in an extremely diverse landscape. ĢƵ’s
Master of Business Administration was named to The Princeton Review’s list of “The
Best 296 Business Schools” and is cited as having a “reputation for not being an assembly-line
program.” The College of Business is fully accredited by the Association to Advance
Collegiate Schools of Business, the internationally recognized accrediting agency
for business schools.
The ĢƵMBA program prepares students to become Business Ready® professionals through
an innovative, flexible, and fully accredited curriculum designed with input from
regional employers and academic leaders.
The program leading to the Master of Business Administration degree requires the completion
of 36 credit hours at the graduate level. A minimum average GPA of 3.0 must be met
in all MBA core courses to satisfy degree requirements.
Students may, but are not required to, choose to take their 4 required elective courses
in a single subject area to create a specialization or earn a graduate certificate
with their MBA degree.
