National Conference on Undergraduate Research
Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ has established itself as a national leader in undergraduate research. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµStudents have participated in disseminating their research and scholarship at this national conference for over a decade. Students accepted to NCUR have the opportunity to present their undergraduate research along with peers from across disciplines.

NCUR, theNational Conference of Undergraduate Research, is the annual national conference hosted by the Council of Undergraduate Research
for student research across all disciplines. This year’s conference will be held in-person
in Richmond, VA, April 13 - 15, 2026.

Since 1987, NCUR has been a flagship conference for undergraduate researchers to share, celebrate, and promote their research achievements. Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµstudents have participated in disseminating their research and scholarship at this national conference for over a decade.
Students may apply for up to $1,250 in travel support through the Academic Project Grants (APGs) process. To maximize your opportunity, submit your proposal early in the funding cycle. Additional travel support may also be available through your academic department.
APGs can be used for travel support to disseminate your research at local, regional, and national conferences. Awards can also be used for equipment and supplies to complete your research.
There are many opportunities for students to disseminate their research findings and creative inquiry through various platforms and presentation formats that include posters, performances, exhibitions, and presentations.

What is NC DOCKS?
NC DOCKS is the institutional repository shared by 11 UNC system schools. It houses
faculty and student scholarship such as journal articles, theses, and research posters.
Why Deposit My Work to NC DOCKS?
There are numerous benefits to depositing your work:
- NC DOCKS is crawled by Google and provides full-text keyword access
- Anyone, anywhere, anytime can see your work - no database subscription required
- Your work will be permanently available through a URL that will never break
- You will have a profile page, which includes statistics that you can add to your resume or CV

First talk to your faculty mentor, and if they approve, contact Scottie Kapel in the
Hunter Library at skapel@wcu.edu.
