    ĢƵ men’s golf coach Tim Eckberg believes things happen for a reason, and there was a reason he and his family vacationed at the beach last offseason. He caught word that Tyler Jones, a golfer from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, had entered the transfer portal.

    Matt Splain had no clue how his team was doing. No internet meant he didn’t know how the other teams were doing at regionals. All he knew was if he hit this eagle from a few hundred feet out on the 16th hole, his team had a chance at nationals.
