Recruitment & Intake
Joining a fraternity or sorority at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ is a wonderful way
to be involved with campus life, find a group of life-time friends and mentors, participate
in philanthropic and community service activities, and increase your leadership skills.
Chapters coordinate their recruitment efforts with the Office of Fraternity and Sorority
Life through each Council – the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the National Pan-Hellenic
Council (NPHC), or the College Panhellenic Council (CPC).
College Panhellenic Council (CPC) hosts formal recruitment every Fall semester over Labor Day weekend. All full-time students who have not previously joined a sorority are allowed and encouraged to participate. The registration link is and opens May 1. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) hosts a formal recruitment process early in the
Fall semester for student interested in joining one of their organizations. A link
to register is and opens on May 1. Information about schedule will be provided in the registration
link and leading up to the weekend of events.
Outside of the formal recruitment process in the fall, fraternities are welcome to offer bids and welcome new members according to their own bylaws and practices. Informal recruitment efforts also take place in the Spring. Following IFC and their participating organizations on social media is the best way to engage in the process. The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) coordinates initial intake efforts with
an event called Etiquette which falls on a Wednesday evening early in both the Fall
and Spring semesters. Etiquette is a required event to be initially eligible for intake.
Eligibility to be considered for membership in an NPHC organization varies, but all
require a full semester completed at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
Individual organizations will post fliers for their intake processes for informationals. Those fliers are required to be posted for two weeks before the event and are available HERE on this digital wall and also physical copies in the FSL office. Further inquiry can be initiated through social media messaging or outreach to the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life.

The Multicultural Greek Council is a collection of fraternities and sororities
founded to support specific cultural communities and emphasize cultural competence,
heritage, and tailored support. Eligibility is usually determined following a full
semester completed at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ, and membership processes vary by
organization. Intake can happen in the fall or spring semesters, and some processes
take a full academic year depending on the organization.
