What You'll Learn

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ's BFA in Graphic Design (Design + Visual Communications) is a NASAD accredited program, focused on preparing students for a wide range of design fields while working with Individual students to discover and foster their unique voice.  

WCU’s Graphic Design program promotes the development of sustainable solutions, holistic research practices and understanding relationships between the people we design for and the context they live within to advance best practices in human-centered design.  

Areas of Study

Some of the topics students explore in studio courses while developing professional expertise include typography, branding, illustration, interaction design, web and app design, animation and motion design, accessibility design, video game design, product design, and more.

Where You'll Go

Thanks to their professional résumés, portfolios and internship experiences graphic design students have been successful in finding professional placements in design firms, media companies, advertising agencies, publishers, printing companies, museums and non-profits. Many are able to establish their own successful design studios. Others go on to continue their education in graduate programs.

Portfolio review required for admission into the B.F.A. Graphic Design program will be on the 4th Friday of Spring semester. Foundational classes are taken in the Fall semester will prepares students to apply for Portfolio Review in the Spring.
