Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design
The Bachelor of Fine Art in Graphic Design at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ prepares
students to become creative, adaptable, and industry-ready visual communicators. Through
a balance of conceptual development, technical training, and hands-on studio practice,
students learn to craft compelling design solutions for print, digital, environmental,
and interactive media.
The curriculum emphasizes both traditional foundations and emerging technologies,
providing extensive experience in typography, branding, illustration, user experience
design, motion graphics, and professional design workflows. Students build a competitive
portfolio through project-based courses, collaborative assignments, internships, and
real-world client opportunities.
Incoming students interested in graphic design should declare themselves as Graphic
Design majors when admitted into the university.
Students work in dedicated design studios and a comprehensive media lab that supports
print, screen‑based, interactive, and motion design projects — giving hands‑on experience
across a range of media and formats.
Thanks to the program’s emphasis on concept development, technical skill, media fluency,
and professional experience (internships + portfolio), graduates leave with competitive
portfolios and real‑world ready resumes.
The Graphic Design program has a 1st year portfolio review that includes both a prerecorded
video interview and a portfolio of work created in studio classes taken durring your
first semester at WCU.
