Math Club
The Mathematics and Computer Science Department is home to the Math Club, which participates in and hosts many events throughout the academic year. Joining the club allows one to be in-the-know of activities ahead of time and be invited to attend competitions like Math Jeopardy. More information about the club and things to know will be included as they become available.
If you are interested in joining the Math Club, speak with your Math course instructors and be on the lookout for club recruitment emails from Math and Computer Science faculty.
Noyce Program
The Smoky Mountain Noyce program provides support for students interested in teaching math in high school, including students from NC Community Colleges. Students can join the program at various stages of their academic career. If interested, read more about the Noyce program to see if it is right for you!
Smoky Mountain Noyce Scholars Program (SMNS) is funded by National Science Foundation’s The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Grant Title: Smoky Mountain Noyce Scholars Program: Recruiting, Preparing, and Retaining Secondary Mathematics Teachers for High-Need Schools, Award Number 2343886).
