Compass Program
The Compass program is designed to provide additional guidance and support for
first-generation college students, students from low-income backgrounds, and/or independent
students. Eligible students are encouraged to apply and are accepted into the program
based on availability and need.
In addition to all MAPS services, students accepted to Compass are matched with a MAPS academic coach who serves as a coach, mentor, and guide throughout their academic journey at WCU! Students can meet regularly with their MAPS academic coach for individualized consultations regarding a variety of topics such as academic, social, personal, and career exploration and planning.
