Proxy Access
As a Student, You Have the Right to Protect Your Information.
Proxy Access (sometimes called Guest Access) is a portal that grants view-only access of your records to others. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, or FERPA, is the U.S. law that protects the privacy of student records.

Proxy FAQs
Proxy Access (sometimes called Guest Access) allows students to grant view-only access to common student records. Proxy Access also allows students to grant themselves access to information about their student record over the phone.
Only current Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵstudents are able to grant proxy access through their myÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵaccounts.
Using Proxy Access, students can grant view-only access to the following:
- Account summary
- Tax notification 1098-T
- Financial aid history
- Financial aid award package
- Financial aid status
- Student grades (final grades only)
- Student holds
- Student profile
- Student schedule - detail
- Student schedule - week at a glance
Students' proxies may be anyone to whom the student wishes to grant access: parents, guardians, spouses, partners, etc. Proxy Access also allows students to grant themselves access to information about their student record over the phone.
Students can make changes to any proxy's access by returning to the Proxy Access page in myÄ¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵand clicking on Proxy Management. Click on the proxy's name to make any adjustments.
Log into MyWCU; Type "Proxy" in the search menu, and select 'Proxy Access to Student Record.' Click 'Add New' at the top right of the page to add a new proxy. Newly admitted students will have an option to setup Proxy Access through the onboarding preregistration process.
If the information is included in the list above of records that are eligible for allowed access, you may contact your student and ask for authorizations to be updated. Some information (such as 5th/8th/11th week grades, tests, homework, quizzes, Canvas assignments, HIPAA protected information) is not available through Proxy Access.
No, guests with proxy access are not able to make any changes to student schedules.
Yes. View-only access is limited by vendor functionality, the access your student grants you, and university policy. Emails, texts, tests, homework, quizzes, and HIPPA protected records are examples of records you are not permitted to see.
