DSST (formerly DANTES Subject Standardized Tests), originally offered academic testing to military service members.  In 2006, Prometric took over the administration of the exams, and made the exams available to both military and civilian students. DSSTs are credit-by-examination tests designed to allow a student to demonstrate proficiency in an area of study normally taught at a college or university.  Tests are available in more than 30 college subject areas.  Additional information about DANTES Subject Standardized Tests can be found at the following web address:
