Career Fairs

We sponsor several career fairs throughout the year that allow our employers to meet with a large volume of students in an exhibit hall setting.  Career fairs are our most popular resource for employers to briefly talk to students about opportunities you have for various internships and careers.  These career fairs range from industry specific to general.  Our students are encouraged to attend career fairs to not only learn more about opportunities with employers, but to also explore their career options by speaking with your recruiters about what opportunities your organization and industry have to offer.

Career Fair PLUS+

The Career Fair PLUS+ is the largest career fair that CCPD hosts every semester and features employers representing different industries and graduate schools.  The PLUS+ in this popular career fair is to detail the additional target services and offerings provided each semester for the fair. This event is usually offered at the end of September or beginning of October during the fall semester and early February during the spring semester. We often host the Engineering & Construction Industry Fair the day before or the day after this event, making it easy to attend both!

  • Career Fair PLUS+ incorporates:
    • Exploration
    • Building Experience
    • Networking
    • Graduate School Opportunities
    • Full Time/Part Time Jobs/ Summer Jobs
    • Internships
    • Volunteerism
    • Starting Your Career

In addition, CCPD offers workshops, webinars, and/or special events two weeks before the event to help our students prepare for the fair.  Please check the to learn more about the pre-fair offerings for students.

Engineering & Construction Industry Fair

The Engineering & Construction Industry Fair is geared for our Construction Management and Engineering programs at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ, although any student interested in these industries can attend. Join us for an opportunity to market your full-time positions and internship opportunities, and meet the students early in their careers. This event is offered as a stand-alone event in the Fall  and Spring semesters, usually the day before or after the Career Fair+ event. Making it easy to attend both!

Education Fair

The Education Fair allows future teaching candidates to interact with school districts to explore employment and student teaching opportunities. Students who are interested in working in a school setting are encouraged to attend. This can include school counselors, speech-language pathologists, nutritionists, and other relevant career paths. This event is offered in March/April each year.

Health and Human Sciences Career Expo

The Health and Human Sciences Career Expos are small scale career exploration and recruitment events. The organizations invited to participate are partners with the College of Health and Human Sciences or Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓƵ. There are limited spaces for these events. For inquiries reach out to careerservices@wcu.edu

Summer Jobs Fest

The Summer Jobs Fest is offered during the spring semester and takes place outside on the centrally located Campus Quad/Fountain Area. This is an excellent recruiting opportunity for employers seeking part-time and seasonal employees or summer interns and students looking for such opportunities are encouraged to attend. This event is offered in April of each year.

Part-Time Employment Fair

The Part-Time Employment Fair is offered each fall semester during the first week of school (about 3rd week of August). Students are invited to attend to look for on-campus and off-campus part-time employment for the academic year.
