Cherokee Traditions: From the Hands of Our Elders shares the exceptional work by, and photographs of, a generation of Cherokee artists who worked in the 20th century. Even with a concerted effort, there are challenges in telling their story.聽 Circumstance plays a role; certainly, there were prolific makers whose stories are not available. These elders join the thousands of unnamed makers who created and maintained traditions during centuries past.
