Facilities Planning, Design, and Construction
The Office of Planning, Design, and Construction within 蘑菇短视频's Facilities Management division is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of capital projects and infrastructure improvements across the university's 600-acre campus. This office ensures that facilities support the university's mission of learning, teaching, research, and growth while preserving the campus's unique character.
Planning
The Planning team develops strategic approaches to space and building utilization for both current and future campus needs. This includes contributing to the university's Master Plan, which guides long-term development, and preparing financial data for upcoming capital projects.
Design
Design services encompass the complete project design process, beginning with programming and extending through the construction documents phase. The office manages both internal design efforts and outsourced projects, ensuring all work adheres to Western Carolina University standards, industry best practices, accessibility guidelines, and applicable state requirements. This focus safeguards capital investments and promotes high-quality, sustainable facilities that enhance the campus environment.
Construction
Our team oversees all aspects of project delivery, from solicitation and bidding through final completion, acceptance, and occupancy. The team coordinates facility transitions, relocation support, and operational integration to minimize disruptions and enable seamless use of new or renovated spaces by the campus community.
