Nominations being accepted for Board of Governors teaching award

Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµfaculty member John Whitmire was the university’s 2019 recipient of the University of North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching. Nominations for the 2020 award will be accepted through Saturday, Sept. 7.

The nomination period has opened for the University of North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Nominations of Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµ faculty members can be submitted via through Saturday, Sept. 7. Nominations will be accepted from Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµdeans, faculty and alumni.

Faculty members are eligible for nomination if they are tenured and have been employed at Ä¢¹½¶ÌÊÓÆµfor at least seven years. In addition, excellence in teaching for a sustained period should be demonstrated, and faculty should be teaching currently. Those on scholarly leave are eligible but will need to be observed in a teaching setting.
